Our Mission
This project started in 2002 as a way to see if one could “measure one of the unmeasurable” parts of the production function residual, or total factor productivity. More than a decade later, the small project has grown substantially and we look forward to many more decades. Our mission is to build a high-quality, systematic dataset to be used by researchers worldwide in digging deeper into the black box of productivity across industries and countries.
Our Vision
Our vision is to continue to expand the dataset using the rigour and care that goes into creating high-quality data. We want to move into new countries and new industries, and we want to continue to re-interview our current establishments to expand the panel dimension as long into the future as possible. Most importantly, our vision is to have as many researchers as possible working with this data.
